“Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out.”

-Coach John Wooden

This quote right here. Am I right? Coach John Wooden is not only one of the greatest basketball coaches to have graced us with his presence, but he had so many meaningful things to say about life. I encourage you to google him if you are looking for some inspiration.

I grew up in Memphis, TN where I was blessed with a wonderful family and childhood.  I graduated from Mississippi State University in 2007 with a BS in Kinesiology - Clinical Exercise Physiology which was the same year I married my amazing husband, Marshall.  I have spent the last 13 years working in athletics, Physical Therapy clinics, coaching basketball and lacrosse, and even hustled as the human resources manager for a geospatial firm in California when the pandemic hit. Yes, that’s a lot, and you are probably wondering how I got here, making beautiful pieces of wood art in Mississippi.

I have and have always had two passions that led me here… basketball and creativity. I have coached girls basketball for ages 10 and up for the last 13 years. It’s the best way I can give back to my community by teaching our youth necessary skills to help them succeed in life. It comes natural to me, I enjoy it, and it’s incredibly rewarding to witness the growth these young ladies endure season to season.

My second passion is something that has gradually crept up throughout the years. I have always enjoyed having a creative outlet, but never realized how therapeutic it could be. In fact, my best friend and I hustled at markets, craft fairs, and pop-up shops selling handmade goods like jewelry and small home decor items, saving enough money to travel to Europe…twice. In August of 2020, my husband and I made the difficult decision to move back to the south after being in San Diego, California for 9 years. We were seeking more space where we could put down some roots, a slower paced lifestyle in the country, but close enough to the necessities, and somewhere we could be driving distance to family members. We landed in Biloxi, Mississippi and couldn’t be happier with our new, simpler life. We moved in October 2020, and I wasted no time in starting my creative ventures of making wood art pieces in my garage.

And here we are, making the best of the way things turned out.

Thank you for visiting my site and taking the time to learn a little more about me. I hand craft every piece of art sold on this site in my home garage, and if you’re interested in any of it, or a custom piece, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Oh, and we have the sweetest dogs named Paisley (pictured) and Scout 🤍 and 15 happy backyard chickens!
