Ever wondered what it’s like to have a video go viral?

I did too, and then it happened to me. It was a very unplanned experience. I know everyone says that, but now that I’ve been through it, it makes sense. And since it’s been hard to keep up with the media and articles, I am putting everything on here.

How it happened: My sister, Emily, sent me to video she recorded of her draining her car door, followed by the tiktok video by @AbdelMedia_ telling everyone to “drain their doors”. We thought it was so funny that her car door had so much water in it. My other sister, Stephanie, was riding in Emily’s car a few days prior and said it sounded like water bottles sloshing around. I asked my sisters, “Should I post this on tiktok?” and they promptly said “Yes!”. I quickly made a tiktok video of @Adbelmedia_ and Emily’s car door thinking it would get a few hundred views considering it has absolutely nothing to do with my normal content (DIY projects, wood art, and my dog Paisley), but it went mega viral and is sitting at over 23 million views, 1.7M comments, 75K favorites, and 16K comments. Such a silly thing, a car door needing to be drained. Who knew!

Below is a link to the video and some of the many articles written about it from all over the world.
